IBM ThinkPad - Numlock issue I have a temporary IBM ThinkPad for work. It has the annoying problem of booting up with the Numlock turned on, which turns some of the keyboard keys to numbers. I'm using Windows XP and have tried it with both SP2 and SP3. Here are the fixes.
Temporary Fix The temporary fix is to hit <Shift> and <NumLk/ScrLk> keys. This turns Numlock off for that session. Next time you boot up, however, it will be back on.
Permanent Fix Go into regedit and change the following key to 0 (zero). HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators Last Update: November 12, 2008 |
